North Butler’s Katie Heuer tugged at her swollen, red eyelids. Teammate Erin Brocka smiled and fumbled for words.

The Bearcats’ Indy Uhlenhopp went down a gravel-strewn memory lane — with a second straight Class 2-A state girls’ basketball tournament title trophy in tow.

“There’s not a better way to go out,” said Brocka, who along with Heuer ended her senior season with the top-ranked Bearcats after a 51-38 title-clinching win Friday over Battle Creek-Ida Grove.
