Freda Lovrien Howell passed away on February 14, 2007 at the age of 101. She was the longest lived person in history of the Lovrien family. She was born December 28, 1905 in Humboldt, Iowa. Services were held Monday, February 19th in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, where she was buried next to her first husband, Richard Wood.

I had the privilege of meeting my great-aunt Freda on the occasion of her 90th birthday in 1995. My father, my grandmother and I attended the celebration in Naples, Florida and I met many Lovriens for the first time, including my great-aunt Gladys (author of the Lovrien genealogy published in 1986), who was Freda's sister. Freda was a published writer and poet and a warm and friendly person who stayed active and involved in life until the end. We will all miss her.
